A Little Something about ME!

 Assalamualaikum all!

Welcome to my new blog, created especially to update my teaching journey as a part of my practicum in KUPTM.

Here's a simple introduction from me. My name is Nadia Aqila Binti Roseland, and as of today, I have been a MARA employee for about 3 years now. I graduated from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand in 2018, and while waiting for MARA's call, I ventured into the IT industry and became a subcontractor for Google as a content review analyst, where my job scope was to go through all the applications on GooglePlay and search for violations. It was an eye-opening experience because while working there, I discovered that I enjoyed teaching others with things that I am good at, thus making me excited to actually start my teaching experience. Less then a year later, I finally received my letter of employment from MARA and my first posting was in Kolej Professional MARA Indera Mahkota (KPMIM), where I was assigned to teach a variety of English subjects for Diploma students, especially those taking Diploma in English Communication (DEC). As it was my first time teaching, my experience in that college had been a whirlwind, with all the challenges of being a teacher for students who are almost as old as myself. Teaching adults are definitely a challenge, and up till today, I'm still learning the do's and don'ts.

Just as I was about to start my practicum in KPMIM, I received yet another letter from MARA, instructing me to relocate to another institution, which is Institut Kemahiran MARA Kuala Lumpur (IKM KL), and currently, I am already in my fifth week of working in IKM KL. The thing is, my relocation to IKM KL did not come at the best time due to the fact that I was transferred here in the final two weeks of PdP (Pembelajaran & Pengajaran), which means that I only have 2 weeks left of teaching before students will be busy with their final examinations and then go back home for their semester break.

So in this blog, you will be seeing all the ups and downs that I will be facing throughout my teaching journey for the next 12+ weeks, as well as the SWOT (Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, and Threat) analysis for my teaching experiences being explained here. I hope you'll have fun reading my journey, and I am also excited to see what the future holds!

See you in my next post, and thanks for reading this one!
